"Well, unless you were frightened by ninja-like thugs chasing the late Dana Plato's scantily clad girlfriends around in a house"
I've not cared for Lieberman since the lame Sega CD Night Trap debacle where he was a major motivator for the videogame industry to adopt the ESRB. Not that I have a problem with the ESRB (it's sort of the videogame equivalent of the Movie Ratings for those who aren't familiar with it), but that game was a long ways from offensive.
Well, unless you were frightened by ninja-like thugs chasing the late Dana Plato's scantily clad girlfriends around in a house.
Have a great day

"I can't believe that having or not having porn movies in hotels is the end of society as we know it and/or serves to encourage/promote/increase raping and pillaging."
Was listening to this interview with anti-porn activists on a radio station yesterday who have gotten rid of porn in some hotels in their area. This article talks a bit about them and some of their efforts in communities here: http://enquirer.com/editions/2002/1...yccvmeet18.html
Check out the last paragraph in particular:
"... said 16 studies cited in the 1986 U.S. Supreme Court case, Renton vs. Playtime Inc., showed that sex businesses are harmful to communities because they increase crime and urban blight and decrease property values."
I can't believe that having or not having porn movies in hotels is the end of society as we know it and/or serves to encourage/promote/increase raping and pillaging. I'm having a hard time, no pun intended, making this stretch.
Furthermore, the activist on the radio was saying it was a "federal crime" to transmit (yes, including internet) hardcore porn over states lines. When asked to define what "hardcore porn" was he described this as: "any act which emulates or actually shows sex acts between two people" -- the host of the program said, "So you don't even need to see genitals for it to fit the description of 'hardcore porn'?" and the activist said, "no."
The Marriot hotel did over 11 million in sales from adult-oriented movies in hotels in 2001 and studies estimate that 60% of the revenue generated from hotel room movies came from adult movies.
What do you think about all this?

"Republicans, Democrats, ___ party: they all lie to us"
It will be interesting to see what happens in 2004. Don't count the possibility out of Hilary running someday, though probably not on the 2004 ticket. I would like to see a woman become President before they throw the dirt over me.
My question is when was the last good republican president? Sure there have been some lousy Democrats too, but it seems the 90's anyway was filled with the republican party attacking Clinton's personal life, instead of focusing on moving the agenda of the country forward.
Maybe this whole terrorist thing could have been avoided or at least curbed if that same effort and energy had been spent working on solving issues with these fanatical organizations.
I could care less if our president lets some intern blow him in the office after hours, but I imagine that at least in the next 25 years history will recall Clinton most prominently for a cigar, blue dress and unsuccessfully parsing the meaning of sex.
Republicans, Democrats, ___ party: they all lie to us. These days it seems like it's just a matter of voting for the one who lies the least.
