Gee, I don't know that having 1000 domains is necessarily such a great thing unless you are going to be a domain vendor.

Let's do the math:

1000 domains x $10 = 10,000
-----------
avg signup = $25 (your mileage may vary)

$10,000 / 25 = 400 signups
400 / 12 months = 33 signups per month to break *even*.

Yikes!

How about 100 domains with subdirectories with each niche in each domain (there are like 40-50 niches). Now your cost is only $1,000 for the domains.

A lot of domains get purchased and never used and that's a waste of dollars.

I know, I know, some will say that you have to "protect the name". But how many names can one protect?
