"Sometimes the price is right but the person buying just isn't going to spend the time using the product/service/website"
>> Would I buy anything from someone that wasn't a full-time webmaster? >>
I buy products, services and memberships online that I find unique, worthwhile, entertaining and/or interesting. I'm not typically very concerned with how long or how serious and/or dedicated the webmaster is behind the content, only that I'll find what is advertised and/or offered as a sample and that the price for that content is justifiable.
Recently, I was looking at the (ultimate) Spiderman comics online and thinking about signing up for that and then I said to myself, "wait, you know you will rarely read them, put that cc back!"
Conversely, I bought into the MLB radio season because hey it was only $14.95 for the entire season. That's every game broadcast over the net. I know through the course of the season I'll use this service (I already have listened to quite a few).
So more importantly for potential customers might be what is the perceived value of the content and will there be enough personal use to dicate the outlay? Sometimes the price is right but the person buying just isn't going to spend the time using the product/service/website.
If it is a membership site where frequent updating is something vital/central to the content, then you bet if I knew the operator was working at the site on a part time basis, it would affect my buying decision. I'd assume (perhaps wrongly in some cases) that there would be fewer updates and "new" things to keep recurring the membership.
Then again, an amateur member site has an angle by being part time, I think. I mean, if they were working this full time, would they really be "an amateur"?

"They feel like they have been deceived and they haven't even reached for the plastic yet"
Took a look at your site and have a few comments for you. Keep in mind that this is just my opinion.
First of all, I would strongly encourage you to register for this and any webmaster board where you want to receive inquiries and feedback. Being unregistered / anonymous doesn't make much sense for someone wanting to do business with serious webmasters. You can register free for Adult Netsurprise here: http://www.adultnetsurprise.com/members/members1.html
In your post you indicated that you have "several galleries starting from $49 per month" but when I went to your site the lowest gallery price I saw was $99. However, after a bit more digging around, I was able to find one picture set for $49: Volume 1 - "Softcore, Bikini", so technically speaking you do have an advertised price that low on at least one picture set. I would recommend using the average price of your services when quoting prices in advertisements, not the lowest possible one.
It's one of the first thing a potential customer can be turned off by. They think they are going to find a bunch of potentially useful, great content for 49 bones and then they quickly realize, wait, it's really $100 - $250 per month. They feel like they have been deceived and they haven't even reached for the plastic yet. Not a killer way to entice a sale.
Now if you are going to work the quality angle then you should stay away from prices in advertising altogether, IMO, and focus more on the process by which you develop high quality images, and have some high quality samples.
And no offense, but you might also consider reworking your site design if quality is indeed your main focus. It's kind of plain looking. There are a number of great designers like the Hiltons for example, who do the graphics here. This makes you seem more like an amateur photographer, which is fine if that's the type of content you are shooting but from the samples I viewed your stuff looks higher quality than amateur stuff, so maybe this isn't the message you want to send. I'm not sure.
I went to the About The Photographer section last and this sentence caught my eye: "I have been photographing sexy young women of the Fort Lauderdale area ..." You might want to rip out the 'young' word because that can have bad implications. One can view the samples to see you aren't photographing content at the local senior center, so it isn't necessary to draw a light on age of models.
I liked the fact that you have a phone number for folks to personally reach you at and that you post you have been in biz since 1997. Maybe you could talk to some of your customers for some testimonials on your content and services? If you've been in biz for 5 years on the web, undoubtedly you have some very satisfied customers who would love to provide you with feedback you can use on your site.
Hope this helps, it is meant constructively ;)
