Apple has taken the ease of use of Xcode and whittled it down to scale, providing all the tools necessary to quickly and easily develop your own Widgets.

Apple has a guide too on working with dashcode.

It’s good to see Apple making this process more non-programmer friendly. This will expand the amount of widgets and possibly inspire people to learn programming. It’s always good to inspire people to learn more.

The Google Blog announces that Apple has now released

three Mac Dashboard Widgets that Google has created for OS X Tiger. The Blogger Widget enables quick and easy posting to your blog. Checking your Gmail inbox becomes a matter of pressing F12 with the Gmail Widget. And the Search History Widget allows you find that website you saw last week while searching Google.

TV Tracker is a really neat Dashboard widget from Monkey Business Labs that makes some really professionally done widgets:

Using this handy widget, you’ll start to notice all the shows that you could be watching right now.

After downloading you configure TV Tracker by adding your zip code, choosing your provider and then picking the channels you watch. Check out how this thing looks on my dashboard pictured above.
