05/21/03: Weird
Looks like last year's diary entries are showing up here as "current" LOL. Don't let it freak you out though, I still update this personal site of mine in my "free" time :)

05/31/02: Day 5: The ebay selling experience
As of this writing, which is more then 5 days since the first listing we still have bids on 6 of the 10 items we have up for auction. Our one reserve item auction (Die Hard trilogy) has now had the reserve met. We have a total of 17 bids registered for those 6 items so far. No bids on the following 4 items: Right Writer for DOS (guess there aren't many DOS fans out there, hehe), Lotus Organizer 1.0, Seattle Millenium Edition CD, and the Bruce Lee VHS tape collection (5 tapes). We'll see if any of those items get bids tomorrow as we go down the home stretch of the auction: Day 6.

05/30/02: Day 4: The ebay selling experience
6 of our very first 10 items we listed now have bids on them, with a total number of 9 bids. Our highest bid as of this writing is $10.50 for a set of the first 3 Diehard DVDs. There are 3 days 10-15 hours left of these set of auctions. It seems around lunch time PST (12-2pm PT) there has been bidding activity each day. I haven't really noticed anything else to report on yet, but I am glad we took time to make detailed listings. I'll be back tomorrow with another update :)

05/29/02: Day 3: The eBay selling experience
We now have bids on 5 of the 10 items we put up for auction, with one item having two bids and the other four items having one bid each. There are 4 days and 11 or so hours left for the auctions, so I'm thinking this isn't too bad. It's one of those things where you kind of check with excitement (almost like checking stats lol) looking to see if you have bids. Overall, a good day yesterday for activity. We'll see how Day 4 treats us :)

05/28/02: Day 2: The eBay selling experience
It was looking like not much was going to happen but we got our first bid within 24 hours of our very first set of listings. It wasn't a huge bid, but it was exciting nonetheless. Only one bid, though, so far. I know when we bid on items we tend to like to wait until the last day or two, so I'm curious if others do the same.

05/27/02: Day #1 of our eBay selling experience
This is officially Day #1 of our eBay selling experience, and I'm going to try and give an account here each of the 7 days detailing our experience. Over the last couple weeks we organized and planned to auction off 10 different items at eBay. We've bought a few items there before, but we've never sold any. You can see a list of these items (and bid if you like) at our ME page here: http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/tdnkara/ Well it's been roughly 12 hours since we submitted the first listing and no bids yet, but I did learn that it takes 2-4 hours for your listing to show up in the eBay search engine. So if you are new to the experience, don't expect to be able to instantly search for your item and find it. When listing you only get like 40 characters, so you really have to plan out your titling and do some research about which category. We made sure to add plenty of pictures to our listings, as you will see, and the cost to list all 10 items was just over $6.00. I think putting together our first listings took us a lot longer than it should have, but we didn't want to just throw up items with hastily written descriptions. We'll see how it works out. Bid on something, we have some great deals in there ;)

05/24/02: Evel Knievel says he's planning to jump one more time!
Evel Knievel says he'll jump again! That's right, I heard on the Jim Rome show this morning in an interview with Evel that he is planning to jump again (he's in his 60's and is in the guiness book for most broken bones). He says he will jump 50 or 60 more feet than he has ever jumped before! That's well over 200 feet!

Good news for radio webcasters: http://money.cnn.com/2002/05/21/technology/internet_radio.ap/index.htm Librarian James H. Billington will issue a final decision setting the new rates by June 20. It will be interesting to see what rate plan comes out.

05/17/02: Dinosaurs thrived after asteroid collision?
This just in about the dinosaurs maybe thriving after an asteroid collision 200 million years ago. I thought the first Jurassic Park was one of the best movies of all time. Forget the sequels though. Asteroids are a fascinating topic for me, perhaps because of that movie where the asteroid hits earth and dooms mankind. It's not that far fetched to say that someday that just might happen. And this just in about Fox going to do a Twilight Zone remake I'm a TZ freak! I can't get enough of the serlingesq shows, although it just doesn't seem the same without Rod.

05/15/02: Critical Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser upgrade!
Just in! Critical Security patch for IE: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/q321232/default.asp Check it out if you are an IE user at your earliest convenience, it plugs some nasty holes. You might want to first install on a non important machine and make sure it doesn't screw up your main machine, just FYI. So far it didn't cause any problem for us with ME, two versions of 98, 95 and I'm loading on Win2000 Pro as I write this.

05/14/02: Some interesting website updates
I regularly listen to the Jim Rome show. He has recently upgraded his website to include a very cool interactive feature for his affiliates. You can check out his site and listen to him at: http://www.jimrome.com/

(oops, original post had wrong link) Netpond along with Andreas from Webflasher introduced their beta flashboard which is a message entirely in flash.

05/09/02:
I'm fascinated by article like this one with all these leftover cell phones. I mean, how many cell phones can one have? The novelty of them wears off quick, I think, as it is nice to be able to go somewhere without a phone always ringing. Sure, it's great to keep in touch, but what about a little peace once in awhile? We have a cell phone but it rarely goes with us. In fact, we're on the budget plan, I believe, for minutes. It's an emergency tool mostly. I've noticed that whenever someone discovers a security exploit these days it is front page news. Now there is word of problems with MSN messenger. You can read more about that here

05/04/02: Spiderman is the best Marvel Comics movie to date!
We caught Spiderman today and I must say to get your buns out there and check it out! Also caught the trailer to The Incredible Hulk (coming in 2003) and that looks strong too. Saw the trailer for Star Wars II (coming May 24), and it didn't look as exciting to us as Scooby Doo (coming June 14) lol. As for Marvel Comics, my favorite was probably The Fantastic Four, so I hope they bring that one to film. Also the Spiderman soundtrack is a must own, so click here and buy it!

05/02/02: Talk about a camp out, clones!
This guy really is camping out for Star Wars II: Attack of the clones he's a webdesigner with a will to do his job on the road, or perhaps more accurately: from the tent. Personally, I didn't like Star Wars I The Phantom Menace and I'm not all that psyched up about the second installment (or fifth depending on your perspective). Actually, I'm looking more forward to Spiderman.

05/01/02: New Month, New start
Can you believe it's the start of the 5th month in 2002 already? 1/3rd of 2002 is already gone. Time moves by so quickly. It is official now that Jayson Williams was indicted on manslaughter charges for the death of a limo driver in his house and could get as much as 24 years in prison, if convicted. In the beginning I thought this guy would get off ala OJ but since more facts have emerged I think this guy is going to the hole. Maybe not for too long, but he's going down.
